The following are issues with the original factory bumper pads which our parts seek to improve upon:  Original parts have seen the effects of over 40 years of aging and deterioration. Rubber is prone to deterioration due to the sun’s ultra-violet light, causing shrinkage, waviness, and cracking. Sometimes moisture ingress would cause corrosion of the imbedded mount bolts, which would swell and distort the surrounding rubber.

Both the front and rear rubber pads form prominent, highly visible upper body surfaces on the 914 which are a significant part of its design, with the front pad completing the nose profile of the car. One of the distinctive design features of Porsche’s is their sleek, sloping nose profile and is a high attention area on the 914.
